In this bookbinding workshop, you will learn how to prep materials, assemble, glue, and sew your own 36-page hardcover journal using a single-section cased binding. This book can be used for journaling, sketching, or both! It is comprised of 2 pieces of book board attached with book cloth, otherwise known as a “case,” and a gathering of 9 sheets of paper called a “section.” The single-section cased binding is an easy beginning book structure that will elicit screams of, “OMG, I can’t believe you made that!” from all of your friends. No prior experience is necessary and all materials will be provided by the Book Arts Studio. This workshop is intended for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students only. Space is limited to 16 students and registration is required.
