Make UR Own: Harcover Journal (Single-section Cased Binding) In-Person
In this bookbinding workshop, you will learn how to prep materials, assemble, glue, and sew your own 36-page hardcover journal using a single-section cased binding. This book can be used for journaling, sketching, or both! It is comprised of 2 pieces of book board attached with book cloth, otherwise known as a “case,” and a gathering of 9 sheets of paper called a “section.” The single-section cased binding is an easy beginning book structure that will elicit screams of, “OMG, I can’t believe you made that!” from all of your friends. No prior experience is necessary and all materials will be provided by the Book Arts Studio. Email bookarts@richmond.edu if you have questions about this event.
