Dorm Decor: Risograph Orientation In-Person
The Book Arts Studio has an awesome machine called a Risograph, in this hands-on workshop you'll learn how to use it AND you'll make amazing artworks for your dorm at the same time! The Riso is a stencil-based duplication process, often referred to as a mixture of screen-printing and xerox printing. In this orientation each student will learn the basic functions of the machine and how to use the scanning function to create a two-color artwork. We will focus on setting yourself up for success when preparing your art and getting comfortable with the moving parts of the machine. Each participant will make 10 copies of their print, to share the Riso love with friends in your classes or on your hall. All materials provided, no experience neccessary.
After taking this workshop, student will have access to the Risograph during Open Studio Hours. This workshop is intended for currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students only. Space is limited to 8 students and registration is required. Faculty interested in learning more about the Riso for use in classroom instruction should email bookarts@richmond.edu.
